The Chapman Insurance Agency was founded in 1934 by Edwin F. Chapman. In March of 1948, at the time of the unexpected death of Edwin, his sons R. E. Chapman (Bob) and W. H. Chapman (Bill) took over the agency.

The Sander Insurance Agency was originally founded in 1952 as the Sander-Tubbesing Insurance Agency by Roy H. Sander and Lewis Tubbesing. In 1967 Roy H. Sander purchased the interest of Lewis Tubbesing and changed the name of the Agency to Sander Insurance. In 1968 Roy M. Sander (Sandy) joined his father.

The Chapman and Sander Agencies merged in 1972 forming Chapman-Sander, Inc.

On January 1, 1995 Ronald C. Burlison, C.P.C.U. (Ron) joined the Agency and on January 30, 1998 became an owner.

Mary Sweaney, who joined the Agency in 1984, became an owner on February 24,1994.

On May 24, 2005, the Board of Directors announced the retirement of William H. Chapman, Chairman of the Board.

At the Board of Directors meeting of February 22,2007, Roy M. Sander, Chairman of the Board, Ronald C. Burlison, President and Mary E. Sweaney, Secretary/Treasurer were elected.
